I grew up in the restaurant business. I was only a year old when my parent's opened their first restaurant with my aunt and uncle. It's all they have done since; its their passion. At a young age, I remember my sister and cousins and I would play in the dining room, occasionally slipping into the kitchen only to be shooed away by the grown-ups. As I grew up into my teenage years, I worked there as a busboy and eventually as a waiter when I was 18. Needless to say, the dynamics of kitchen movement has long been a part of my life.
For this inaugural post, I'm sharing with you some of those dynamics with these pictures. Its purely about fast, candid, action shots because the kitchen environment won't allow you precise set-up. These pictures were captured in the kitchen of Alfredo's Paradiso in Merritt Island, Florida during a wine pairing dinner last month. Pictured here are members of the kitchen staff Executive Chef Alfredo, Sous Chefs Franco and Derrick.
